Our Take
What we think about Kingdoms of Amalur: Re-Reckoning
This may be a fantastic substitute if you were anticipating Scalebound. This classic game was first launched in 2012 and has been remastered for this newest release, which includes several upgrades and several breathtaking fights that would have also appeared in Scalebound. The level lock of previous saves has been removed and players can now play on any difficulty they want from the start. The original game stored what level the current zone was set to and only allowed that specific area's quests to be completed unless someone else on your system had a higher level of it. This affected the enemies you fought and what loot they dropped as well as possibly making certain quest targets respawn faster than others if you were too high or low for them. Enhancements like this and restored visuals make it an excellent game for enthusiasts to revisit or newcomers to experience the amazing Kingdom of Amalur.

Our Take
What we think about Monster Hunter: World
In Monster Hunter: World, you can battle monsters that are bigger than you. You can explore secret places to find them and fight them. They have a lot of different weapons and armor to use so you can be prepared for everything. In this game, there are no dragon companions but it is similar to Scalebound because the monsters are huge and they have lots of cool weapons to use. Both games have a lot of action and players will need to use all the weapons they have to defeat the enemy. In Scalebound, players could issue commands to their dragon companion to help them during battles. In Monster Hunter, you can get quests that tell you to hunt monsters, just like in the open world parts of Scalebound. These games are both action role-playing games and they both have lots of fighting against huge enemies.

Our Take
What we think about Horizon: Zero Dawn
Horizon: Zero Dawn has been a fan favorite of PlayStation owners for years. The game offers a lot of exploration, huge enemies, and a large arsenal of weapons to help the player survive. The storyline is deep and thought out and the graphics are amazing. We think that this game is a good option for people who enjoy role-playing games or those who like exploring big worlds. The actions of the player also influence the third-person shooter combat, which makes it even more interesting to play. We would recommend it to anyone that was looking forward to playing Scalebound for its exploration and graphical awesomeness.

The game features all of the main RPG elements that have made the series so successful over the years, with beautiful visuals and an entertaining story. In this entry in the series, players assume control of Drew or Rena from opposing worlds whose journey to end violence in their land. It has been delayed from its original release date but Bandai Namco is confident that it was all worth the wait.

Our Take
What we think about Tales of Arise
Scalebound shared many of the same gameplay elements as Tales of Arise. The combat in both games is primarily focused on evasion and countering to make it less difficult. One feature in both games that they share is that you can customize your dragon with various features. Another feature both games have are action role-playing elements with the main protagonist playing as a character with a dragon companion for an ally. Tales of Arises features a more Anime-inspired art style, so if you don't enjoy cartoon-style gaming, this may not be the game for you. If the gameplay is more significant and you want something that feels similar to Scalebound, this is an excellent choice.

Release Date: April 20, 2018 (PS4), January 14, 2022 (PC)
Available On: PS4, PC
Our Take
What we think about God of War
A key part of gameplay is Kratos' rage mode, which allows him to unleash his rage through damaging himself to deal additional damage to enemies, or to heal from injuries. The skill tree is expanded from the previous installment. Atreus will also offer advice on how to defeat enemies which players can use for future battles. The way God of War fights and the scale of these conflicts are the most comparable aspects between God of War and Scalebound. If you like exaggerated settings, enormous monsters, and expected much from Scalebound, try out the updated legacy of God of War.
