The Best Nintendo Switch Games, So Far

Published: Dec 5, 2021

Nintendo Switch is a great console with a ton of games to play. Since this is a current generation console, we are not going to make a “best of all-time” list. Instead, this is our list of the top 5 Nintendo Switch games so far. It wasn’t easy to choose with Nintendo having a very strong lineup of first-party games, so we tried to pick out 5 games that offer the most value as far as replayability, features, and modes.

The Nintendo Switch is a video game console that was released on March 3, 2017. The Switch can either be docked to a TV or used as a mobile console with the included Joy-Cons. There are two controllers that have an analog stick and four buttons on each side, as well as ZL and ZR buttons (the ZL and ZR buttons are absent on the left and right sides of the controller). The Switch is a hybrid console: it can be used as a handheld or it can be attached to a TV. The ability to game on the big screen or convert to a mobile device, gives the switch an edge for active and casual gamers.

While Mario and Donkey Kong often make it onto our lists, we tried not to use our love for the classics to affect our decisions. With that said, a Mario game did make it on and somehow Luigi did too. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe was a close consideration, since it was a huge upgrade from the Wii version, but it still lacks a certain variety that you can find in the games below.
